NCU welcomes International Learners from all around the world who
want an education from an accredited US institution. You can earn a
degree without leaving your home country and get the same quality
education we offer US Learners.
English Proficiency
You will be working with English-speaking faculty and must
be able to communicate effectively in written English. If English is not your
native language, you will need to demonstrate English proficiency. TOEFL or
IELTS scores may be required prior to admission.
There are currently three ways to take the TOEFL: paper-based test (PBT),
computer-based test (CBT) and internet-based test (IBT). NCU requires a
score of 550 (PBT), 213 (CBT) and 79 (IBT).
Testing information can be found on the
TOEFL website. Official test
scores must be sent directly from the testing agency to NCU
Registrar. When you order test results or take a test for the first
time, be sure to include the NCU School Code: 4572.
International English Language Testing System – ACADEMIC VERSION ONLY (IELTS) —
NCU requires a score of 6.5 on the academic version of IELTS. Go to
http://www.ielts.org for complete information. Test
results must be sent directly to the NCU Registrar from IELTS.
Test scores must be submitted prior to acceptance and enrollment being granted.
If applicant has already taken the TOEFL or IELTS the test results cannot be more than
two (2) years old.
Credential Evaluation
Applicants submitting diplomas, degrees, and course
transcripts from non-US institutions should have their academic
credentials evaluated. The evaluation will determine if their
education meets the admission requirements and if any transfer
credits will be awarded. Allow time for the Credential Evaluation in your enrollment timeline.
NCU will accept credential evaluations through
World Education Services, Inc. (WES) or AACRAO only.
WES: Official documents must be sent directly to
WES and it is important to list Northcentral University as a recipient of copy on the application
so that NCU will be electronically notified when the evaluation is complete.
AACRAO: The NCU Registrar’s office can assist you in facilitating your credential evaluation through
AACRAO. Your enrollment advisor can assist you in contacting the appropriate Associate Registrar.
