NCU's Master of Arts (MA) in psychology program is an in-depth exploration of the theory and
practice in the field. Learners are equipped to pursue careers in the helping professions, industry,
government, and nonprofit organizations. The online masters psychology program also provides Learners with the foundational
knowledge and skills necessary for doctoral level study.
Objectives
The objectives of the Masters Degree in Psychology specializations are:
- Provide the knowledge and skills for professional growth.
- Encourage personal growth, self-improvement, intellectual accomplishment, and global
awareness.
- Enable individuals to integrate formal academic learning with individual
and community problems so that meaningful personalized learning takes place.
- Prepare and encourage individuals to continue their education in psychology
at the doctoral level.
Requirements
The online masters psychology program requires 36 graduate semester credits beyond the Bachelor’s degree (except the
MFT specialization). A maximum of 6 graduate credits may be transferred from another university. The required minimum
courses consist of Fundamental Courses and Specialization Courses. Your Academic Advisor will assist
you in developing your individualized Degree Plan to meet your learning objectives.
NCU offers the online masters psychology program (MA) in five
areas of specialization, allowing Learners to focus on what is meaningful to their professional
growth and development. Learners who complete at least 18 credits in a specialization may elect to have that
specialization recorded on their transcript and diploma. A specialization is not required.
