Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) Compliance Policy

In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and subsequent regulations, Northcentral University provides reasonable accommodation to a qualified individual with an appropriately documented disability, provided that such accommodation does not create an undue hardship. The University determines accommodations on a case-by-case basis for students who are unable to meet program requirements due to appropriately documented disabilities.

Reasonable Accommodation Policy

Northcentral University is not campus-based. Accommodations are individual in nature and are decided on a case-by-case basis. Requested accommodations initiated by the Learner, must be reasonable, must not create undue burden, must be supported by adequate documentation, and must be requested within a reasonable time frame.

Determination of reasonable accommodations and compliance with the ADA and the Rehabilitation Act for Learners are the responsibility of the Disability Counselor(s). The Chief Academic Officer is the administrator responsible.

Requesting Accommodation

Learners requesting accommodations under this policy must contact the Disability Counselor to request services. The Learner must self-disclose their disability and provide adequate documentation of their disability (medical records, psychological testing, etc.) completed by a qualified professional (physician, psychologist, psychiatrist, etc.). Learners who wish to request accommodations must be accepted for admission to Northcentral University before registering with the Disability Counselor. In accordance with data privacy laws, Northcentral University will handle all documentation on Learners with disabilities confidentially.
